Configuration...
This dialog box allows you to set a number of configuration
options. Use the cursor keys to move to the option you want
to change, and use the space bar to change an option. Press
Control + Enter to accept the dialog box.
+ Screen colors -------+ This option allows you to choose
| ( ) B & W ( ) Laptop | the type of colors Commander
| (.) Color 1 ( ) Color 2 | will use.
+--------------------------+ Use the Laptop option if you're
using a laptop computer that
can't show colors.
+ Screen blank -+ This option controls the delay before
| [ ] On | the Commander blanks your screen.
| [10] Minutes | Choose Off to keep the screen from
+-------------------+ blanking after the specified delay
with no keyboard or mouse activity.
Hint: To blank the screen instantly, move the mouse into
the upper right corner. Move the mouse to the lower
right corner to keep the screen from blanking.
+ Printer port -+ This option specifies which
| ( ) COM1 (.) LPT1 | printer to use when printing
| ( ) COM2 ( ) LPT2 | from the internal editor.
| ( ) COM3 ( ) LPT3 |
+----------------------+
[x] Show hidden files
Check this box if you want to see hidden files (which appear
with a # between the name and extension).
[x] Ins moves down
When checked, the cursor bar will move down after you select
a file with the Ins key.
[ ] Select Directories
When checked, the selection keys Grey +,Grey -, Grey *
will select Directories automatically. Normally these keys
will only operate on files only.
[x] Auto change directory
When checked, moving the cursor bar in a tree panel will
change to that directory after a short delay. If this
option is not checked, you'll have to press Enter in
the tree panel to change directories.
[ ] Menu bar always visible
Normally the menu bar is visible only as long as you're
selecting an item from it. Check this option to keep the
menu bar always visible on the screen.
[x] Auto save setup
When this option is checked, the Commander will remember
exactly how you set up the Commander, even after you turn
off your computer. Uncheck this option if you don't want
the Commander to remember (in which case you'll need to use
Shift + F9 to save the settings).
[ ] Left-handed mouse
Swaps the left and right mouse buttons, which is useful if
you want the mouse on the left side of the computer instead
of the right.
[ ] Fast mouse reset
On some computers (e.g. a PS/2 or COMPAQ with a mouse
connected to the built-in mouse port) there will be a delay
of several seconds before the Commander appears after you
run a DOS command. Check this option to reduce this delay.
[ ] Copy newer files only
This very powerful feature can be used when copying files.
If your destination already has files there, then Commander
will only copy over newer files.
